Power Shoes Turn Heads on the Web
Primarily women's heads, since ladies reportedly go into a search madness to follow the fashion statements of the U.S. First Lady. This time, it's a wedge from Kate Spade.

The Art of Shoe Throwing
You've seen it on TV with U.S. President Bush dodging a shoe thrown at him during a press conference (courtesy CBS):
Now it's back, and some news agencies (AP: a shoe flies, a leader ducks) call it a trend...
I think the trend mentioned in the AP article is largely inspired by former Soviet chief Nikita Khrushchev who, at the 1960 UN Assembly incident, slammed is shoe to the podium in protest against opinions expressed by leaders of countries under colonialism. There is a quite famous picture circulating all over the web, like this one courtesy marshallpoe/Mechanical Icon:
